Case Study – British Land
British Land are a FTSE 100 and one of the UK’s leading property development and investment companies. British Land has been using cr360 for a number of years to collect and manage their environmental data required for their extensive reporting requirements. After two years of large changes to their company and personnel, British Land needed expert external resource to bridge the knowledge gap whilst managing their entire environmental data collection and reporting process.
Using SustainIt’s expert technical know-how and acute attention to detail, we successfully managed British Land’s environmental data management program whilst making incremental improvements on an on-going basis. Our work involved; configuring the system to ensure best practice principles were being utilised, spotting historical issues in data whilst also checking all the current data collected in the system and liaising with external auditors at year end. On top of this we engaged with all users on a frequent basis to help them better understand what was expected of them and why, providing training where required.
In a short space of time, British Land saw multiple benefits as SustainIt quickly become a key source of knowledge and information to the company. British Land benefitted from more engaged users which in turn improved data timeliness and quality and more efficient data management processes in line with learned best practices which saved time and money on unnecessary system configurations. This gave them the time needed to focus on the planning of their environmental strategy and requirements going forward.
