The Challenge

Sky UK is a British telecommunications company providing television and broadband Internet services. As a responsible business with a keen focus on their sustainability and environmental targets, Sky’s aim is to be the most environmentally friendly media company in the world.

Managing their EHS data was consuming a great deal of valuable staff resource and they were keen to focus on developing and delivering their sustainability and EHS strategy. SustainIt offered their expertise to support their Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team and take on the management of their EHS data.

The Solution

Initially SustainIt worked closely with Sky to understand and document their EHS data processes. Once completed SustainIt then implemented a new data checking process to dramatically improve the quality and timeliness of all EHS data reported. As experts in the EHS software Sky used, SustainIt were also able to offer suggestions and implement improvements to their system.

SustainIt were able to verify all the incoming data once it was submitted as well as identifying, investigating and resolving data issues along with the provision of regular data completion and verification status updates. The team supported Sky through our helpdesk services, this allowed them to raise any data or system queries and receive expert advice to solve each issue.

The Benefits

Sky were able to significantly reduce the amount of time spent on EHS data management, allowing their internal team to focus on developing and delivering their sustainability and EHS strategy. Additionally, SustainIt’s work was able to drive significant improvements in the accuracy and the integrity of their data enabling Sky to both make better decisions based on this data and to report more reliable data.
